Council Meetings are generally held on the 4th Wednesday of the month, commencing at 9.30 am. The meetings are open to the general public.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, changes to the Local Government Act allow for Meetings of Council to be held via audio visual connection while ever restrictions remain in place.
The Council meeting will be live streamed to Council’s Youtube channel and recorded. The recording will be placed on the website the following day when possible.
Public Forum:
The Council may hold a public forum prior to each ordinary meeting of the Council for the purpose of hearing oral submissions from members of the public on items of business to be considered at the meeting. Public forums may also be held prior to extraordinary council meetings and meetings of committees of the council.
To speak at a public forum, a person must first submit an application to the Council and receive approval prior. Applications to speak at the public forum must be received prior to close of business (5pm) on the Monday before the date on which a public forum is to be held, and must identify the item of business on the agenda of the council meeting the person wishes to speak on, and whether they wish to speak ‘for’ or ‘against’ the item.
A person may apply to speak on no more than one (1) item of business on the agenda of the council meeting
Public Consultation Sessions are held between 9am– 9.30am, before the official commencement of the Meeting.
