Tenterfield Shire Council has received funding from the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery fund to allocate a rural address to properties who have not previously applied or to replace those damaged in the bushfires. It is important to note that only one rural address number can be provided to each property free of charge. Additional rural address numbers can be requested at the standard cost of $102.00.
Council has previously sought interest from property owners to take advantage of this funding however due to both the limited number of responses and the quality of some of these responses, Council has sought an extension to the funding and has reopened applications. Note that you will need to complete a new application even if you had previously responded.
Rural addresses are an effective means of identifying your property. It ensures that emergency services can find your property quickly and efficiently. It also allows for easy identification during essential services connection and more efficient delivery services.
An essential part of the process is to work with landholders to identify the primary legal vehicle access point to properties that front roads to allocate an appropriate rural address number.
